Let's Get Together Now
The final song to be added to the music for the 2002 FIFA World
Cup is an example of modern Asian music at its best. Sony Music
will produce the music, including not only the official anthem by
Vangelis and the official song by Anastacia, but also the official
"Korea/Japan" song, a collaboration between four bands
- two from Korea and two from Japan.
The song by the bands Brown Eyes and Lena Park (Korea) and CHEMISTRY
and Sowelu (Japan) reflects the new era dawning across both host
nations of the 2002
FIFA World Cup. The joint Korean/Japanese production also serves
as a symbol of their mutual goodwill, as well as the passion both
countries share for football.
"This song is yet another important link between the two host
nations of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, allowing Korea and Japan to
showcase the modern aspects of their rich cultures," said FIFA
President Joseph S. Blatter.
The official "Korea/Japan" song, released in Japan in
mid-March, and also appears on the official Korea/Japan album for
the 2002 FIFA World Cup by Sony Music, featuring a selection of
artists from both of the host nations.
