For your information Regarding Tianjin Water Supply: Tianjin city's water source, the Luan River, is drying up and thus the water supply will switch to the "Yellow River" beginning end of November, with probably a progressive mix, until the end of December. So, expect to see your home water colour/hardness change, and, now more than ever, do not drink or use for food preparation without boiling it first.

The Tianjin books mansion was opened to the public recently.
Tianjin books mansion is a large, all-around modern mansion which sells books. It is located in the busy business district, there are 20 floors , and 1 basement, with over than 50 thousand sq m2 total area. It includes: books, audio-video, education, culture and physics, leisure books.
Compared to the book mansions in other cities, Tianjin's is more sophisticated and has more to offer, including computer rooms.
It stocks up to 200,000 books from at least 500 different publishing houses.

The 1st Tianjin Metro line will be launched in December 2005. The metro line is an extension of the present line and is aimed at easing traffic congestion, reducing traveling time and increasing convenience for travelers. The extension will cost less than RMB 6.9 billion.
The metro line will begin at Liuyuan and end at Shuanglin, covering a distance of about 26 kilometers. There will be 23 stations on the line. The train can carry up to 4,800 people per hour.
This metro line will introduce automatic ticketing at the stations where travelers pay according to the distance they travel. There are four types of tickets to be sold.
